Malibu Wedding Photography :: Eilish + Chris

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of shooting with Elisa again at Los Calamigos Ranch in Malibu, CA. The weather was perfect, and so was the day for this easygoing and fun couple. Eilish made a beautiful bride. Once I saw her feathered hairpiece, that's when I knew she was cool! ;o) Yay for feathered hairpieces! The details were classic and elegant, just like the bride and grooom.

This was one of my last shots of the night. I thought it was a beautiful moment seeing Eilish being welcomed into a new family. :o)

Southern California Maternity Photography :: Dianne

A few weeks ago, I was sent an email from a client wanting to gift a cousin with a maternity session. I had never met Dianne prior to the day we did the shoot, but I was pleasantly surprised to meet an energetic, spunky, petite, and super cute young lady! Dianne is due in about a month, and she looks amazing! After research some locations, I found that the Kenneth Hahn State Park was a convenient and varied enough location to give us some options for the shoot. I was blessed with nice cloud coverage that day, and was really pleased with these shots. Enjoy! :o)

Special Olympics of Southern California - Event Photography

Through some of my photography friends, I got involved in shooting event photography for Special Olympics of Southern California. One of my goals was to use my photography for a great organization and I found one in SOSC. The first of two recent events I shot at was a last minute shoot. I had a maternity session scheduled, and was asked to photography a meet and greet for the All That Skate show at the Staples Center. When I heard that Michelle Kwan was going to be the special guest at the event, I was beyond excited! I used to watch a lot of figure skating as a kid, and Michelle is definitely one of my favorite figure skaters. My friend Jon got a shot of me with Michelle, but I refuse to post it. Let's just say, it was a good reminder for me to 1) go to the gym and 2) get a haircut. :o)

Verdugo Bar - Mobile Mash-Up!

On a lazy weekend afternoon, one of my friends suggested we hit up Verdugo bar in Los Angeles, for their Mobile Mash-up event. I wasn't sure what to expect, but found out that it was pretty cool. The atmosphere was laid back and very chill. There were a few food trucks serving up food next to the back patio area where you can also play various board games. With the digital/technological revolution, it was nice to experience some good old classic boardgames and random chatter with a few good friends. Max Visits Socal!

My best friend brought her little family to visit me in Socal. Even though she warned me, I was not prepared to see how much work young children actually are! Even though it was a long weekend, I had a blast and it was wonderful to see how big Max has gotten! :o)

What a great way to show your "something blue". :o)

One of the things that was so evident at this wedding, was the strong friendship amongst the wedding party. It seriously made me miss my friends! One of the groomsmen jokingly said (after I took this photo) that it "wasn't a good angle of him," but I think it looks pretty cool!

It was so dark outside after the sun had set. I really wanted to preserve the atmosphere of this moment by using only available light...thank goodness for those twinkle lights!
