Movie - Sex & the City 2

About five years ago, long after the show had ended on HBO, my best friend introduced me to her Sex & the City dvd collection. All my preconceived notions about the show were completely erased after watching the first three episodes. I was hooked. I rented every single season from Blockbuster until I had watched the entire six seasons. I now have a boxed set of the series, and have watched it about 10 times all the way through (yes, every season, no joke)!

I continued to watch the series over and over again, and when the first movie came out, excited would've been an understatement. I missed "the girls"! I love this show, and more than that, I love what the show (according to Sarah Jessica Parker) has always been about. No, not the sex! It's about the amazing, undying friendship of these four women, and the non-traditional roles and relationships that they have, both with eachother, and the men on the show.

I won't spoil part 2 for anyone who hasn't seen it, but I definitely think the outrageousness was over the top! However, despite all the critics who slam the movie for being over the top, if you are a fan of the show, you accept the outrageousness with open arms ;o) Come on, the fashion people! The fashion!!! :o) I thought it was fantastic and Kim Catrall was hilarious in it! A couple of friends and I caught the movie at the Arclight in Pasadena. There were LOTS of heels in attendance! Crazy!

I have both the first cover from the first movie, and now this one! I think I will get them framed! :o)

I kinda got overly excited when I saw this set up they had inside the theatre. By the way, reserved seating is the best thing since sliced bread! Two thumbs up to the Arclight theatres!

We had a few guys in attendance too...but to save them the shame of being tormented by one person in particular, I won't post their pictures. ;o) Your welcome. :o)

San Francisco - City by the Bay (and then some!)

I always joke with my photography friends, "If you've been somewhere, and you didn't have your camera, then you really didn't go there!" Little did I know that these words would ring true for me! I've been to San Francisco several times, and the last time I was there briefly, I shot a few pictures of the city at night. Since I was second shooting a wedding in the area (more on that later), I figured I'd really take in the city and get the shots I've always wanted. I absolutely fell in love with San Francisco! There is so much to do, see, eat, and more!!! There was something different around every corner, literally.

So..here ya go... *drumroll*

China Beach

Baker Beach

I've been hearing about this place ever since my friend Jon discovered their duck fried rice. He talks about it like it's the best thing since sliced bread...King of Thai Noodle House.

Okay, so he wasn't kidding..their duck fried rice is totally to die for. We decided that the reason why it's so good is because they must cook the duck in with the rice, as opposed to just adding the duck at the very end. It is TASTY...and their curry isn't bad either :o)

I've seen this several times, and I'm dying to do a couple shoot around here.

I was really shocked to see how deserted Chinatown was at night, but I guess it's understandable considering much of it is retail shops.

If you're looking for a great breakfast place (or if you just love pancakes), you must try the Milbrae Pancake House in San Bruno, CA. I opted for their waffles, and it was YUM.

Night life.

We had breakfast at this other place called the The Lodge at Cavallo. You'll think you just stepped into a Ralph Lauren Ad. The breakfast is so delicious. The bacon is perfection, and the bicuits are indescribably good. Make sure you try the pear preserves!

Then we headed to a great viewing spot of the Golden Gate Bridge. I love this place, and I must come back when there is some fog rolling in! It's gonna be awesome!

On the way home there is a vista point. We lucked out...the clouds were happy to see us :o)

Fave of the Week - Downtown L.A. Artwalk

There is a little hidden gem of an event that happens the second Thursday of every month in downtown L.A. It's the L.A. Artwalk, and it's totally fabulous! If you love New York City (and I do), you will LOVE this event. You get to see downtown L.A. come alive like you've never seen it before. One of my friends who had never gone before even commented that he could not believe this was downtown L.A., and on a THURSDAY even! The vibe is energetic, and the food trucks...the food trucks are YUMMY!!! Words cannot do it justice, so I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. :o)

Tacos from the Komodo truck! They are DELICIOUS! Definitely a MUST TRY.

Obviously I wanted to buy these ;o)

Some of the best ice cream you will EVER taste... from Cool Haus truck.

Dodger Game!

A few days ago, a friend of mine asked if I wanted to go to a Dodger game. Really? Sports? I responded with, "Only if it's free!" Yes, you heard me, free! Turns out it was free, and so was the food! Apparently, we were let into this "my town" area and it was USC night. I didn't go to USC, but if you hand me a free t-shirt and free food, chances are I'm not gonna turn it down! ;o) I ended up having a good time even though I'm not a baseball fan. The game ended poorly for the Dodgers, but we did get to see a crazed fan run out onto the field and get tackled by security hehehe... people are crazy!

Anyway, on to the pictures!

Me and my free food! :oD
